Unmasking Common Myths Concerning Conception

By Gary Taylor

Coupes and women trying to conceive have been known to do the weirdest things. Some of the stories told boarder fiction but surprisingly, they are true. Some of the myths Concerning Conception are based on misinformation and only lead to greater frustrations. To build realistic expectations, here are some of the common myths that have been confirmed to be falsehood and not based on any fact.

Those bedroom gymnastics will only hurt your back or cause shameful injuries. Raised feet thirty minutes after sex and head stands do not aid conception at all. In fact, you are only advised to stay still in bed for a few minutes to allow the body to retain more sperms. Do not cause your spouse to perform acrobatics during sex because it will only tire you up.

Daily sex does not make a man more potent. A couple, and especially the woman, should understand her fertility cycle in order to engage in sex when it is necessary. Unfortunately, science confirms that ejaculating on daily basis will only reduce your sperm percentage, concentration and count. This makes your semen less effective. The best timing is six days before ovulation because a woman will be most fertile.

You can still get pregnant if he withdraws. Though Planned Parenthood advocates for this as a natural method of contraception, there are chances of 4 women in 100 getting pregnant. In other cases especially involving unconscious withdrawal, 21 in 100 of women conceived. This is blamed on pre-ejaculation fluid that deposits sperms leading to pregnancy.

The tales on influencing the sex of the baby are just chances. It is common to hear of boys being associated with certain sex positions, days of the month and facing north, among other crazy maneuvers. Girls are associated with missionary position and having sex during full moon. The only influencer that changed the percentage by 1 is eating more calories as well as calcium, potassium, vitamins B12, C and E.

A woman does not require an orgasm to conceive. While it is good for your sexual satisfaction, it is not mandatory for you to conceive. However, it will increase the chances since the contractions pull semen upwards bringing them into contact with the egg faster. Otherwise, the sperm will eventually swim upwards.

Cooling your husbands jet engine will make him more fertile. This is a fact that is scientifically proven. It has been confirmed that sperm count rises with cooler temperature. Hot tubs, saunas and hot baths should be avoided. However, it will take at least 60 days for any significant change in sperm count upon taking continuous cooling measures. An ice pack on his genitals in between sessions will therefore be a waste of time.

Conception journey is personal for every individuals or couple. Numerous factors cause speedy or failed conception meaning that a universal solution cannot apply. Only a reproductive health specialist can help you establish the real problem and propose the best solution. Do not result into an act that will compromise your health or future chances.
