Pentecostal Bible College And The Principles Learned From It

By Betty Carter

A lot of people are misinformed or simply misunderstand the role Pentecostal Christianity aims to achieve and it s only through consistent attendance of Pentecostal Bible College, does one find themselves in a position to truly appreciate not just the teachings that are on offer but where they stem from and their intention.

Some denominations have it, others do not. But baptism plays a pivotal role in the life of a Christian. From the symbolism that the substance plays within the scripture and what it means to its literal role in the anointing of new life. And this is no truer than when the representation of purity meets a man who is pure and of no evil, a baby.

In addition, baptism is not only limited to water but the Holy Spirit as well. For those who truly believe and follow God are blessed with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Through an in-depth analysis of God s word from both tenses the ability to receive and used gifts that Christ made available, like for example the ability to speak in tongues. What is important to note, however, is that baptism does not cause one endowed with gifts to speak in tongues and vice versa.

These gifts don t come as a reward for being good nor being the best Christian if there ever was such a thing. But they are a result of those who believe seeking salvation from all their misdeeds and misgivings in order to follow in the footsteps of their saviour and live without sin.

But a towering need for change is needed before any of the teachings can be put into practice. This change needs to come from both the spirit and the mind in order for it to be deemed successful. A successful change in attitude may lead to a person being able to truly understand the death of Jesus Christ on the cross and the consequences thereafter of that particular sacrifice.

Although this is considered to be a sensitive topic by some. Tithing is also a subject that is studied with much surety and certainty. More so, the need for tithing and what is meant by giving 10% of what a person has to the church and how tithing puts forth the necessary foundation for people to serve the church.

With that said, all of the above is not done in blind faith, as scholars of the bible are made aware of any disadvantages, or to place it in a better context alerted of any dangers and negative effects of tithing in the wrong manner or with the wrong intentions. Giving a balanced picture of what it means to tithe rather than leave it to assumption.

All of these traits and more are what makes a true Christian. It is only through Bible study and discussion that a person is able to keep track and return to the correct ways of doing things in the unfortunate event that they stray along the way. By following these simple principles and studying the Bible, a person can attempt to walk in the footsteps of Christ and live as he did. Regardless of whether they lived in the old or new testament.
