WWJD, Overcoming The Overbearing Emotions Thinking What Would Jesus Do?

Emotions are alive when people go through difficult times in their lives. It becomes more relevant and more powerful. However, there are many people who are unsure of how to control what they are feeling applying the wwjd principle. And because of this, can cause more damage than good.

One of the biggest mistakes that people make is that they react immediately. It is best to take a minute to analyze the situation so that you can figure out whether it actually affects you. Sometimes when you react to something immediately, it could trigger feelings from something else without you even being aware and it may come across as though the current situation made you react. This could result in you having regrets later on.

Seeking advice from someone that you trust should be done with a person who wasn t at the place where the issue occurred. The reason for this is that they won t be able to give a bias or one-sided opinion. As they weren t around to see who was right or wrong, they are likely to provide a response that will be useful to you.

Make sure that if you have been through an uncomfortable situation, you try to lessen the number of negative thoughts that are running through your mind. Keeping in bad thoughts can make you feel bitter all the time and you could always reference that incident every time something else goes wrong. Never hold a grudge. It is best to let it out and start to heal with positivity.

Don t block out how you feel. You may want to stop yourself from reacting but within yourself, you need to acknowledge how that situation or person made you feel. You need to understand it and accept that something hurt you. Following this, accept that you are happy to move on from it.

One of the lessons that you will learn during this journey is how and when to speak. Speaking out of turn or through anger can make you seem as though you are untrustworthy. Many friendships are broken over such incidents. It is best to learn ow manage your anger and how to speak without emotion, especially to people who are not directly involved.

A good way to burn off the feeling of being upset or angry is to exercise. There are many people who use this technique. They rather walk away from a confrontation and take out their anger on a punching bag. This way, they are still releasing how they feel instead of holding it in. There are also other options if you can t seem to get in control by yourself such as anger management classes where they teach you these tricks.

This is a common problem and by reacting a certain way, you are reminding yourself of who you are as a person. Take the simple steps to learn how to cope better.
