Importance Of Apologetics Ministry Teaching

By Ann Sanders

One may take it to mean that it is a ministry of apologizing while actually, it is not. Not many people have heard of an apologetics ministry but in its own meaning one may tend to explain it simply. It is a ministry in which Christians are taught to defend their faith. It is based on 1 Peter 3:15 where Christians are given instructions on how to live with each other and be able to explain why their faith is the way it is.

Apologetics help in persuading non-believers into joining the Christian faith. Acts 17 encourages Christians to persuade non-believers like Paul did. Saint Paul would go to the synagogue for three days and reason with the people while proving to them from scripture that Christ had to suffer, die and rise for their sake.

Muslims are taught all about their religion at a young age and that is why it is very difficult for them to stray away from their path. Since Christianity is not very strict, most of the people claiming to be Christians tend to know very little about the religion. The apologetics help them in understanding their religion thus easily defending it.

As Christians, we believe that the world is not our home. We are simply on a journey to heaven. On judgment day, it will be determined which souls are going to heaven and which ones are going to hell. Christians use apologetics to keep people away from hell. Apologetics guide them in explaining what is in the afterlife and the options they have.

Once they believe that Christianity is the only religion that offers redemption, they have a chance at being saved on judgment day. If they do not repent and acknowledge Jesus as their savior, then they will not be exonerated from sin and at that, they will suffer a fate of eternal punishment in the fires of hell and we too as Christians will suffer with them if we do not attempt to correct them.

Its normal for people to come out and criticize the religion. They especially put the spotlight on the fake religious leaders to make it seem that all of Christianity is a lie. The media has contributed greatly towards spreading this negative information. In such situations, we are called upon to defend our religion and correct the misinformation passed across.

Apostasy is in relation to same-sex relationships. They are not allowed in the biblical times and are still abominable. Surprisingly, not everyone believes so. Some churches have accepted these relationships and have gone on to officiate and bless them. In actual sense, Christians should be fighting against such and warning people of the consequences.

False teachings are a part of the weeds that are killing the Christian faith. Other religions like Islam do not acknowledge Jesus and see him as another one of the prophets. Atheists do not believe in God at all and openly condemn Christianity. Such has caused people to lose faith.
