If you are reading this article you are probably looking for ways to improve your leadership skills and become a better boss, business owner or in your personal life. Becoming a leader is something that you can learn and it takes time to do, the more you research and read from other successful people who are proven leaders the closer you'll be to becoming the leader you want to be.

Leaders have a lot of different qualities but one of the main qualities you'll find in a leader is that they can easily identify and appreciate the talents of others. Being able to appreciate the effort, hard work and dedication of those that are close to you whether in business or in your personal life will help you gain respect.

Ethics play a huge role, you need to make sure that everything you do whether in business or in your personal life is based around honesty and consideration for others. If you employ people or you manage an organization make sure that ethics are part of your company's policy and that everyone understands the importance of good business practices.

Always tell others how much they, and their work, mean to you. It only takes a moment to write a short thank-you, or "good job" note, and it can mean a lot to someone who is working hard all day. Giving someone this kind of acknowledgment is going to lift moods and it doesn't cost you anything to do and most importantly people will respect and admire you as a result.

A major quality every leader in history has is tenacity. The ability to inspire and motivate people when things don't work out as planned is something that not a lot of people can do. Only leaders can develop this quality and what makes a great leader is the combination of all the qualities we have mentioned in this article. Take the time to research, read and study successful leaders in history and don't be afraid to learn as much as you can to grow not only as a person but as a better human being.
