Paper embossing is one of the oldest crafts, and it was used in the past to make a special effect on stamps. It is very special in that it makes the letters that are being embossed to be raised in the surface and so they become more obvious as compared to those that are not. It can also be used to make images more raised in the surface of the paper. This can be done using foil embossing dies.

Dies are made of many materials, but the most common are magnesium, copper and brass. The material that is to be embossed will determine the material that will be used to make the dies so that they can be compatible. Of course, there will be other factors to consider, and so one should get all the information they need before purchasing dies so that they can choose the most appropriate.

You can get different types of stamps. Each offers various advantages and disadvantages. The blind emboss technology uses other aspects and do away with ink and foils. This helps to highlight the stamped areas. For one to notice that the embossed paper has been completed, they have to check the arrangement of the paper on the use. This technology is applied on hard paper so that people will not forge but remain different.

The second technique is called registered embossing. It is basically a form of imagery that duplicates things that have been adorned by ink or foils on the paper's surface. The other method is combination emboss. It uses both impressing and foils impressing on one piece of paper to bring out a unique outcome. It will look common, yet complex to be fictitious because one cannot tell what has been done to it.

Some of the forms of impressing include scorching, pastelling, and glazing. All of them make surfaces look appealing and very inimitable. To enhance the effect, the finishing is done using the ink and pearl varnishes. It is so suitable for a decorative piece and also other products which will be because of their beauty, for example, gift wrappers and stamps.

In foil embossing, heated die is applied to the foils and then to the surface that is to be decorated. This is beautiful because it comes out in shiny and attention catching colors that are shimmering. Most of the things that are embossed like this are pencils and pens. Others include photographs, covers of books and handkerchiefs. The foils produce a metallic shimmer that is shiny and that hold for a long time. It can, however, come off when dipped in water for long.

If you do not like the shiny surfaces, you can opt for the pastel foils. Normally, it has totally opaque tints and lacks the glossy effect. For the white one, when it is pressed on white paper, it provides a refined brand which is outstanding.

Before choosing the fit dies, you should be sure of what you are looking for. Select the ones that go along with the impression you want to make. In the place of the manual works, the pneumatic machines can be used. This will make work easier and lessen fatigue especially when working on a lot pieces.
