There is actually a wide range of differences between these spiritual journeys. You might be able to take note of a few similarities once you read them through but that is it. Once you go beyond the last page of the OT, then you would definitely find yourself facing an entirely varied interpretation of what you have just discovered in the first testament.

Take for the example the way people should communicate with God. According to most Old Covenant vs New Covenant forums, priests are the outlets of individuals towards the Almighty in the Old Testament while they would have to come to the throne of the Father in the latest one. However, as a Christian, you are absolutely free to choose between these two options.

When it comes to the law being followed in the two chapters, the Ten Commandments and another set of 603 laws are being featured in the former one. All of these laws have something to do with the religious, civil and moral aspects of the growth of an individual. The latest testament on the other hand states that the law of God is to be followed by loving your Creator and your fellow human being.

As for the sacrifices made in these two parts of the Bible, food and animals are being offered in the OT while the NT allows people to simply live the life of a Christian to serve as their sacrifice. They just have to follow everything that Jesus have taught them. They do not need to burn things in the mountain to show the Creator that they have repented for their sins.

As for the festivities in these two portions of the Bible, the Holy Sabbath was being highlighted in the former one while the Supper that Jesus had with his disciples was being honored in the latest testament. The rules on Sabbath Day are simple. You should not perform anything related to what you do for a living and you must not forget to hear mass during that day.

When it comes to the rules on how a certain venue can be considered as a holy place, the people in the new testament are actually more lenient about the regulations. They can hear mass as long as they are among their fellow Christians. People in the OT on the other hand would need a temple or tabernacle in order for them to say their prayers.

A High Priest governs the ceremony for an official day of worship as well. However, this position can be given to any high ranking individual in the Old covenant while Jesus is the only High Priest considered in the new one. He is the only being who is qualified to the be the right hand of His Father.

In the new portion of the Bible, Christians are said to be the followers of the High Priest while Aaron and his sons had to adhere to the rules of a human High Priest in the former Covenant. In this situation, the people in the NT are actually more blessed compared to the individuals in the OT. That is because they have a personal encounter with the son of God.

Actually, the principles of the New Testament continues to live in the present generation. Every human in this planet belongs to that portion of the Bible whether they like it or not. The Old Testament is something that is to be left to the forefathers.
