By Lilia Moody

The United Garden of Eden refers to the idea of restoring world peace through respect and recognition of differences in opinion and behavior. The aim is to build a world that is harmonious, peaceful and tolerant like it existed when Adam and Eve lived. The genesis of the idea is that every person in the world has a voice and a right to be heard. Divergence in religious, social or cultural views should not cause division.

Bringing together cultures, societies and diverse people of the world is viewed as a sure way of fostering peace. The group insists that there should be no judgment or hatred. These are the foundations of hatred. Everyone should have the opportunity to choose the kind of life he or she wants to live. The absence of judgment and intolerance will minimize the incidences of war.

Widespread prejudice and greed are some of the ideas that the group seeks to eliminate. The negative light with which some communities view others is responsible for problems in the world. It has resulted in endless wars around the world. The new frontier is a nuclear crisis that is threatening to erupt. Such conflict would only result in property destruction and unwarranted deaths.

It is possible to avoid some conflicts in the world because they are caused by human acts. Famines, poverty and ethnic strive result from inequitable resource sharing and greed. The forum foresees the end of generic human suffering and unwarranted property destruction.

The forum foresees a new future for humankind. It is referred to as the beginning of a new light where human beings can live together peacefully. This new era respects differences in religion, nationality, social status and ethnicity, among other social classifications. Respect is mutual such that no single person is considered superior to others by virtue of ethnicity or religion.

A day referred to as Q-day witnessed the symbolic return to the Garden of Eden. According to Mormons, the day and its events were prophesied and directed thousands of years ago. It is contained in prophesies of Mayans, the people who inhabited America before Europeans arrived. Leaders of the movement insist that there is no relationship between the predicted end of the world on December of 2012. The event marked a symbolic restoration of the original Garden of Eden.

Missouri is considered the site where Adam found refuge after expulsion from Eden. This is according to the literature of Mormons. They consider this land the New Jerusalem predicted in the bible. On this site, Adam gathered all his children and blessed them before his death. This gives the piece of land greater significance than any other in the world. It is the site where they will find peace.

The United Garden of Eden is where the seven generations of Adam were gathered for the final blessings. Different Mormon presidents have written about the subject. They state that the people dispersed due to persecution and one day they will return. This is the symbolic location where the world will find peace.
