According to experts, the way you appear outwards reflects the health of your spirit. Spiritual training helps to polish your spirit and provide the required energy boost to push you towards accomplishing your goals. There is greater peace of mind when your spirit is strong. This makes your interactions with people more productive and easier. What strategies can you use to train the heart and make it stronger?

Examine your current position in life. Evaluation entails recognizing the aspects in life that need to be strengthened. Consider the principles that guide your life and whether you have gone off the course. Determine whether your spirituality is getting weaker or stronger. This evaluation should be thorough and honest. Leaving out some areas will lead to sabotage of your growth plans as you concentrate on some areas and neglect others.

Draw a road map to your next destination. This includes identifying where you want to be in the next month, year, five years, etc. Identify activities that will bring a shift in your journey and push you closer to your goal. Be ready to work extra hard and leave behind what appears to be your comfort zone. You may need the assistance of an experienced spiritual leader.

Find like-minded mentors to support you in the journey. There is no chance to grow if you live and interact with the same people who led you into weakness. Identify seasoned leaders who will guide your spirituality. The people should be familiar with your journey in life. The spirituality must also have been tested and proven to produce desired fruits. Whether you will succeed or fail in your journey will depend on the company you keep. Some will encourage while others will discourage you.

Identify quality materials aligned to your intended spiritual journey and destination. It is impossible to get everything from the teacher or leader within your vicinity. You need extra input from other leaders and teacher in distant places. This is only possible when you read books, listen to audios, watch videos and other materials about their lessons.

Be ready to encounter challenges. Everything will not turn out as you expect. Some goals will be accomplished while others will fail. This should not discourage you. Keep pursuing growth in spirit and make effort to become better spiritually. This is where you will need to make a lot of sacrifices in order to hit your target.

Your physical environment should be aligned. The environment determines how well certain concepts are absorbed. An environment where you cannot concentrate or are easily distracted will lead to total failure. A silent time and atmosphere, a retreat, pilgrimage, etc will help you get the most out of training. The surrounding environment should also be free of temptations that may weaken your spirit.

Reset your goals from time to time. Set a specific period by which you will have achieved a particular goal. Once the goal is achieved, set other higher or more challenging goals. Engage in exercises that challenge your spirit. They help you reveal areas of weaknesses and thus work on improving them. Start today instead of postponing your training sessions.
