By Della Monroe

You own a lot of clothes. You tend to buy new ones every so often and you tend to get tire of the old ones you have pretty fast. Now, you have an overcrowded closet and you're trying to find ways on how you cam get rid of some of the stuff inside.

There are people these days who may not have the means to afford any more clothes than thew ones they have on their very backs. You want to see if there are ways you can extend some help to them. A good way for you to extend some assistance would be through charity clothing. Instead of just discarding clothes off. You can get them donated instead.

Understand that when donating clothes to charity, it is important that you have them prepared ahead of time, you cannot just go and send them out without even getting them ready to be pick up and distributed to those people that they're going to be of much help for. Ensure that you need to take the appropriate steps towards ensuring that you'll be cleaning up your closet right.

Make sure that you get your closet decluttered first. You need to find out which of the pieces you own are still going to be useful for you. You need to know which ones are not anymore. You have to create a pile of those that are to be left behind and those that are supposed to be discarded. This is important so you get to keep track of how things actually are.

Get the clothes prepared too. What you need to do this time is make sure that you will check the pockets to see if there may be coins and bills that are on them. Many staff in charities tend to find jewelry, money and other items that can be easily forgotten. It may be hard for these people to return these items to their owners due to the amount of donation they get every time.

If possible, get the clothes washed. You do not necessarily have to do the job though because there are institutions and organizations that will actually accept these pieces even when they unwashed and dirty. Still, if you want to be charitable, might as well get the pieces washed so you know that they will be clean and they would even be ready to use once they're distributed to recipients.

Make sure to throw in some sheets, bath towel. And even blankets too. You want to include even those ones that are looking quite thread bare or those that are no longer brand new. They are actually very helpful especially when use on animal shelters. They can help keep the furry creatures warm and can help in cleaning the place as well. So, throw in some of those pieces as well.

Be sure to find out which places are going to accept these clothes too. Different charities will have their own drop off points. It is best to give them call first and ask if they can direct you to the right places. This way. You will know where to head to after you have everything that you plan on donating set and ready and packed in their necessary containers.
