The Importance Of Christian Prophetic Guidance

By Harriet Porter

Many times Christians do not know what to do in their walk of faith with God. For this reason they have to seek Christian prophetic guidance. A believer does not have to own the prophecy gift to talk to the Creator. He or she also does not have to be supernatural, just human who walks in upright ways.

Believers may get prophecies if it is in line with the purpose of God for their lives. Prophetic guidance enables those who believe to know the will and purpose of the Creator for their lives. Walking in accordance to the prophecy and fulfilling the purpose of God is then possible after revelation. Faith of believers is then strengthened this way.

It is possible to hear from God himself if you are a believer and follows Christ. However, this is possible only with a relationship that is strong with God which is made possible through prayer. After perfecting your relationship, the way is clear for you to receive prophetic guidance. The connection s well as the relationship should be strong at all times.

Predicting the future is not really the true purpose of prophecy. Prophecy seeks to have revealed the unending love God has for His people and the purpose He has for them. For this reasons, the main job for prophets is not to actually serve people as individuals but as the whole church.

The Holy Spirit is part of the trinity and was give to Christians by Christ when he left the earth to come back again. The Spirit is to guide Christians in their daily walk with God. The bible says that when we have the Spirit in us we are not confused of what to do because we have an anointing to know what we need to know.

The apostles as well as Christ himself told Christians to be careful about the false prophets. False prophets speak their own message. To differentiate their message from the right message we have to have the Holy Spirit. If you hear a message from a prophet that you have not heard before from the Spirit then you need to careful about it. The prophets only confirm what the Spirit is saying.

It is unbiblical to turn to prophets for answers. This is because everyone who knows Christ and follows his word has the Holy Spirit who guides them in hearing the word of God Himself. There is no individual in the pastoral world that is meant to replace the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian. Besides, the word of God is perfect and complete and Christians can rely on it for guidance. This does not mean God cannot use someone else to speak to you.

Be cautious of what you do when you have prophetic guidance. This should be seen in how you act and your lifestyle should be an example to others as well as used to spread the word. It is important to aim to be like Christ in holiness and allow gifts from Him to teach others to want to be like Him. A prayer in faith and reading the scriptures should be enough whenever in doubt.
