Divorce Legal Help Provided By New Jersey Divorce Law Firm

By Cliford Waluhan

The rates for failed marriages in most states are alarmingly high. There are statistics showing how many are recorded per thousand people in a year. In 2010, a New Jersey divorce lawyer would have had potential clients at a rate of 3.3 per thousand.

The marriage rate was 6.4 per thousand, meaning approximately half of all marriages end in dissolution. A distressed couple will require an attorney to represent each of them. There are many steps to getting even the leniently awarded no-fault divorce.

There is no federal law pertaining to dissolution of marriage. Each state imposes its own set of laws. The legal and emotional ties to each other are easily severed. Unfortunately, most once intended to spend a lifetime married to each other.

Most give up far too easily. The relationship may be worth saving if both work hard at it. Of course, there are those individuals who end the bonds for the sole purpose of marrying a second spouse.

It is far better to resolve the issues that accompany the dissolution of one marriage before jumping into another. Issues like division of property, bank accounts and even life insurance policies are in need of resolution. Sometimes a home must be sold and sometimes child custody has to be determined.

A no-fault dissolution is granted on the grounds of irreconcilable difference or something called irretrievable breakdown of the marriage, which means the same thing. The courts must have long words handy to justify the cost involved. The attorney fee and court filing fee can add up to a hefty sum in many cases.

It requires the help of an attorney to wade through the legalese of the negotiations. Any prenuptial agreements must be honored in most cases. If one partner wishes to contest, or object to, the severing of marital ties, it can turn into an expensive endeavor.

Fighting over the children is not only expensive in a financial way, the children can pay an emotional price. It is always better if the parents can be cordial to each other. The worst thing to do to their children is talk badly about each other to the children.
