Try A Visit To Dewey Community Church

By Ann Foster

There are times in ones life where a sense of community and belonging is desired and sometimes even craved. It could be during a particularly stressful time, whether it be the addition to the family, a recent death of a loved one, or simply a more mature stance in life. Regardless of what prompts the thoughts, they often do exist. This is the time when one might begin to consider attending church in their local community. If so, consider visiting Dewey Community Church.

There is no better place to begin and end your search. One will find not only a great group of concerned and caring individuals but this is where one can quickly become a part of the church family. This is a local, evangelical, faith based organization that is home to a great group of loving practicing Christians. One should expect to connect with people interested in growing emotionally and spiritually and being part of an extended caring family.

The pastor is both mature and devoted to assisting the congregants in growing spiritually. Leaders here enthusiastically assist when needed and are faithful in their calling to be leaders and examples for those following God. They consistently and eagerly serve as examples in their own walk with God which inspires others to be faithful and supportive of this ministry.

The mission of this church is much like many other Christian evangelical churches. The difference here though is that this body seems to embrace the mission and live it out loud. The honesty and sincerity of members seem to shine through in their interactions with others making the mission come alive. This makes DC unique and truly sets them apart from the norm.

Although the church does not have a huge congregation, it is obvious the people that attend have huge hearts. The caring and concern can be felt as they welcome attendees in at each service. It is not difficult to feel the sense of community here which makes weekly attendance easy and comfortable.

There are a number of different ministries here. However, it is obvious the children and youth ministries are the main focus. Of course, this is a priority for many churches since the children are the future of the church. It is wise to spend time and energy into encouraging and training youth to ensure they become both successful and ethical as adults who have been rooted and grounded in biblical principles. This is evident here at Dewey Community.

There is also a womans ministry which focuses on fellowship and the support of one another. Group outings, play dates, and special group functions are planned and enjoyed. Periodically, getting together to chat and go over life events and how best to put Christian practices in play is planned, anticipated, and enjoyed.

They also offer a mid-week service as well as the regular Sunday services. This service really allows for a less formal and more intimate opportunity for prayer, the study of God's Word, and more open fellowship with others. This is also the time where fun activities are often planned for both the youth and adult. Over all, this really is a great place where you can meet like-minded people who care, are genuine, and caring. One where it is easy to connect and grow emotionally and spiritually while being connected with people in the community and enjoying a sense of calm and peace. Come give us a try, we believe it will be fulfilling.
