How To Make The Most Of Your Experience At First Baptist Church Columbia

By Susan Scott

You might like going to Church, but then again you might not enjoy it so much. There is a lot that can make you not appreciate going to the house of worship but then if you really want to go, there is a lot that you can do to make sure that you enjoy your time there. When going to First Baptist Church Columbia, here is what you can do to ensure that you have a worthwhile experience.

If you decide to be a part of a congregation, it is important that you also become a committed member. This means sacrificing your time and energy, so that you can serve in the ministry as well. Being part of the active participants will keep you engaged instead of just being a spectator and feeling like an outsider. So, find areas of interest and see how you can join those teams.

Do not isolate yourself, rather, try and socialize with other people with the aim of making friends. There are a lot of people who may not have friends and they may just be looking for people to interact with. You can give support and encouragement to others, especially those who are going through a hard time.

It is advisable that you psychologically prepare yourself for the church service. You can do this by being in a prayerful mood. Pray for the service and the service leader for that day. Also, pray for other members of the congregation. You can also take time to read the bible passages that the day's sermon will be preached from. This helps you know what to expect.

The place will be much more fun if you invite other people to join you. You can go with your family members or you can invite your friends. Having someone else to chat with about the ongoing and as you go there will give you something to look forward to.

It is important to arrive on time, that way, you are not rushed to settle day and quickly tune in to what is going on. This takes lots of planning, so that you can leave home on time. It will be better if you can arrive a few minutes early to the start of the service. This will give you time to socialize with some of the other people who have also come early.

Also, take time and have fellowship with other people after the service has ended. Do not leave right after service has ended. This is the best way to get to know others and what is going on in the ministry. You can even decide to invite a couple of people over to your home for lunch or you can go to a restaurant.

When choosing somewhere to sit, choose a good seat. This is a seat that will allow you to see the front clearly without any obstructions. This will make it easier for you to follow everything that is going on. If you lose focus because of a bad seating position, you might feel like you have wasted time going for service, so choose an area that is advantageous to you. This can only happen if you arrive early.
