Tips To Use When Making Your Save The Date Cards

By Joyce Richardson

Getting married is quite an exciting time for most people. To this end, most people want to invite their friends and family to share in this special moment. In order to maximize the chances of everyone you want to attend the wedding coming consider sending out save the date cards. These are important in helping people to psychologically prepare for the event and to inform them to free themselves up from other obligations on the day of your wedding, so that they can attend the event. Here are some things to keep in mind when handling the invitations.

The earlier you inform people about your intended wedding, the better. Therefore, let them know way in advance. This will require that you send out the invites as soon as you have agreed on where the wedding will be held and the day of the event. Do not wait until too late to end the invites, otherwise it may just be best to just send out wedding invites.

You do not have to mail out the cards to everyone, just mail them to a select number of individuals. These are people that you do not want to miss the wedding. Also, send them out to people who you want to be on your bridal line up. It is also important to let your friends who stay far away know early, so that they can plan to travel to the event.

Include basic but relevant information on the invites. This includes where the wedding will be, the day and who the bride and groom are. Make sure to address the person you are inviting properly and by name. Let the invited person know that you will send them more details through the wedding invitations that you will send them later.

You can send out electronic invites or post them through mail. As popular as electronic invites are, posted mail is still handy. This is particularly if you are sending out invites to people who do not use computers or phones as much, such as the older generation. They may miss to see the invite if you just email them, so it is good to follow up an electronic invite with a paper invite.

Leave out information about your wedding registry. Some people may view this as being in bad taste, since the wedding is meant to celebrate the couple and it is not mainly about giving gifts to the couple. However, you can include a link to your website, where you can include your gift registry details.

Using images is a choice. You can opt to just have print or you can include photos. The most ideal photos to include would be that of the bride and groom to be but you can include any other photo.

No need to panic in case you have erred on the invites. If you haven't sent them out yet, just make the correction but if the mistake is too glaring then you may just have to reprint them. If you have already mailed the invites, call each person you sent the invites too and let them know that there was an error on the invites and tell them the correct information.
